I don’t know how vendors automatically know when you’re getting married. I’m just getting followers on Instagram left right centre from wedding vendors, like a hawk after its prey, Nawa ooo!
Anyway, a few days ago one particular profile followed me and immediately became of interest to me @Weightlossguru or something like that. They apparently cater for brides-to-be by helping them to loose weight before their wedding day. One their page you see a lot of ‘before and after’ pictures of size 18 women and a size 8 woman with the hashtag #getweddingready, of course this comes with a hefty fee. I recently saw the same thing on Bella Naija about one Weightloss Expert ask damz, offering the same service.
So many brides to be were tagging themselves shouting #bodygoals up and down the place asking how to join, how much it will cost because they want to slay hard on their wedding day. Don’t be conned by IG popularity, Ladies let me just say this now in case you didn’t know, there’s no gimmick to weightless tricks.
While you might think that losing a few pounds before your Big Day will help you look picture perfect, crash dieting can wreak havoc on your life in the long run. I believe all it takes is common sense and discipline to lose weight no need for weight loss experts to tell you what you actually already know, weight loss is in your hands.
As I have been saying for some time now, wedding planning is a pain in the ass. If seating arrangements, bridesmaid drama, honeymoon planning, aso ebi and in-law wahala don’t put you over the edge, calorie-counting and weight loss almost definitely will. Just stay disciplined and follow some easy, convenient, cheap things you can do below; and most importantly just Love your body. Imagine if you lost all this weight for the wedding day and put it back on right after… what would your hubby say?
- Drink Water
- Eat more fruit and veggies
- Exercise more (you don’t have to go to the gym; you can do this in the comfort of your house)
- Portion control
